Regarding the Aug. 22 story “Green Infrastructure at Schenley Park”: Toward the bottom of the article, there was a mention of Schenley Drive. For many years Schenley Drive through the golf course has provided a good bicycle route between Squirrel Hill and Oakland. The 8-foot shoulders accommodate both bicycle and automobile traffic without apparent conflict. However, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has announced a project that will eliminate these 8-foot shoulders.

Doing so would reduce safety and increase opportunities for conflict. Please help persuade the conservancy to redesign the project to accomplish its other goals without ruining the bicycle route.
