Stage 62's "Side Show" is a wonderful production

“Come look at the freaks” begins one of the best local theater productions to hit Pittsburgh in a long time. I had the opportunity to attend Stage 62’s production of “Side Show” this past weekend, and what a production it is.

From the costumes, moveable sets, exhilarating orchestral accompaniment and a cast that rivals those in New York or on tour, I felt as if I had been transported to Broadway.

This little-known musical, while nearly two and a half hours long, never feels old. It is a shame that the show will be in Carnegie, at the lovingly restored Andrew Carnegie Music Hall, only through Sunday. I could see it several more times. Try to get a ticket, if you can.
