Close the U.S. embassy in Iraq instead of deploying troops

How important is it to have a U.S. embassy in Baghdad? Instead of deploying troops to ensure the safety of embassy employees, why not close the embassy in that war-torn country and bring the embassy employees back home? Is this solution to the problem too simple and too logical for the government to consider?
