Hugs are good, even for trees

I loved the photo of the young Nepalese student hugging a tree (“Love for Nature Breaks Record,” June 6). Two thousand and one Nepalese schoolchildren hugged trees in a bid to set a new world record for the largest tree hug as part of World Environment Day.

All living things need to be hugged. Even a tree.
