Medical win-win

In Friday’s Post-Gazette, there was an article citing a shortage of doctors as the possible reason for the delays in treatment at Veterans Affairs facilities (“Why So Many Delays in VA? Too Few Doctors, for Starters,” May 30). I also noted that you had a rather lengthy article earlier last week concerning a shortage of residency openings for new doctors wanting to become specialists in a particular field of medicine (“Some Med School Grads Fail to Get Residency,” May 26).

I see this as a perfect situation to solve both problems. I cannot understand the inability of the VA to see such an easy way to help our veterans and increase the available medical personnel for the veterans and our society as well.
