Star’s subpar play

Has anyone considered the possibility that Sidney Crosby’s subpar play in the playoffs may have been caused by his being flat-out tired? As far as energy is concerned, he may have been running on empty.

Naturally he would never admit to this, but it’s a very long season and he’s always No. 1 on the opposing team’s hit list.

He never benefited from having an “enforcer” player as Bobby Clarke of the Flyers had in Dave Schultz.

Also, there is the possibility that his concussions have adversely affected his play. Look at the long list of NFL players who suffer from concussion symptoms years after they have stopped playing.

We may never know for sure about any of this, but let’s give him the benefit of the doubt until we do.
