I was impressed with the passion and boldness of the scholars pressing for a student bill of rights ("Students Seek Rights in City Public Schools," Oct. 14). Their most grievous complaint was a lack of college preparedness.

May I offer a suggestion to these seekers? Go to a library. Tell the librarian where you are in your crucial classes and where you must be for further education. Ask for a plan. You will find help.
