We must demand no more killing in our names

Diplomacy not missiles are needed in Syria. Killing people with chemical weapons is horrendous. Killing people with missiles is horrendous. Killing living things is horrendous.

"But they killed children." Haven't U.S. drones killed many children?

Let all of us pro-life people holler and scream against killing more people. Military action in Syria will cause more death, including many civilians -- and create more enemies.

Our president wants just a quick strike, but limited action is not possible. There are too many unforeseeable consequences, which could drag us into another all-out war.

Alternatives to military action need to be implemented:

1) Establish without doubt who the perpetrator is.

2) Work with the United Nations to demand surrender of all remaining chemical weapons, since the goal must be to prevent additional use of chemical weapons.

Russia has expressed dismay at the use of chemical weapons; therefore we need to assume that it would go along with such a U.N. demand

3) Go to the International Court of Justice to prosecute the perpetrators.

4) Ban the future supply of weapons to all sides of the conflict in Syria.

Congress is currently debating and will vote this week on President Obama's proposal of military action.

Make their phones ring off the hook. No more killings in our name!
