Silencing perspective

State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe continues to be an embarrassing example of the Republicans in the state House, who can't seem to pass any meaningful legislation at all -- while they continue to use their energy to promote bigotry and their view of religion. Rep. Metcalfe denied Rep. Brian Sims, who is gay, the right to speak on the House floor, and then claimed that what Rep. Sims was going to say would be an "open rebellion against God's law."

I can only remind both representatives of a quote from Joseph Sobran: "The attempt to silence a man is the greatest honor you can bestow on him. It means that you recognize his superiority to yourself."
