Thanks, Pittsburgh

Our son was graduated from Duquesne University over the weekend and so what better time to publicly say how much he and we -- his parents and siblings -- have thoroughly enjoyed Pittsburgh over the years. Our visits were always brief and hectic and didn't allow us to drill down too deeply into the community but we saw and experienced enough to sense what a special place it is.

You have a terrific city with a lot going on and there is definitely a feeling of progress and energy. And that's not only my view, but one shared by the many people from Buffalo who have children at Duquesne, Pitt and Carnegie Mellon.

Pittsburgh is full of endearing little customs and idiosyncrasies but, more importantly, it is filled with nice people who always went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our son is staying for now and while we will miss having him at home, Pittsburgh is the next best thing and we hope to be able to keep coming back. Thank you, Pittsburgh!
