Children killed by guns is an American disgrace

Other countries around the world don't have this problem

Statistics, statistics, statistics. The news sources are constantly bombarding us with the atrocious number of young children being blown away by gunfire year after year (“Beyond Newtown,” Dec. 14). The hard facts are there, but the answers and solutions remain few. It’s as though this is the way it is — a way of life or, should I say, death and just deal with it.

Children who may be in your home right now or out playing in a park or at the mall or at school could be the next victims.

I will not sit on my hands and accept this disgrace. I will call and write every congressman or politician I can reach and demand that changes be enacted. The numbers are appalling and must be drastically reduced. Other countries around the world don`t seem to have this problem. National Rifle Association members, are you listening?
