The Riverlife Task Force

Funded primarily by private foundations, the new task force is composed of riverfront property owners and business and civic leaders who will seek to identify aesthetic, environmental and economic issues related to the development of portions of the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers. Its task will be to develop a vision for riverfront development that would be used as a guide for city officials and other public leaders as they make decisions on riverfront proposals.

 Explosive growth along the city’s rivers is already under way. The map shows projects - with costs and estimates included where known - of projects that have been started or completed along Pittsburgh’s riverfronts.

1. David L. Lawrence Center Expansion, $328 million

2. PNC Park, $261 million

3. New Steelers Football Stadium, $252 million

4. Lincoln Properties, $21.615 million

5. Alcoa World Headquarters, $47 million

6. Lower Level Allegheny Riverfront Park, $8.3 million

7. Station Square Expansion, $63 million

8. PNC Operations Center, $110 million
