Repairs to tracks in Beechview and fan replacement in the Mount Washington Transit Tunnel will disrupt bus and rail service this weekend, Port Authority announced.

Inbound Red Line service will be detoured all day Saturday using the Blue Line via Overbrook. Rail shuttles will operate from Overbrook Junction to Potomac, and bus shuttles will operate from Potomac to Station Square. Outbound Red Line service will operate normally.

On Sunday, from the start of service until 1 p.m., the transit tunnel will be closed. The Red Line will not operate in either direction between Potomac and Station Square. Bus shuttles will serve the affected stops. Rail service south of Potomac will operate in both directions. Blue Line service will operate in both directions between Library and South Hills Junction, with shuttle buses operating from South Hills Junction to Station Square.

Bus routes that use the transit tunnel also will be detoured.

After 1 p.m. on Sunday, the tunnel will be open and Blue Line and outbound Red Line service will return to normal. The inbound Red Line will revert to the Saturday detour.

Rail service between Station Square and Allegheny Station on the North Side will operate normally throughout the weekend.
