SPECIAL NOTES

Pothole hotline -- Report potholes on PennDOT-maintained roads at 1-800-FIX-ROAD. Report potholes on local roads and streets to municipality where they appear. City residents should dial "3-1-1."

School Road, Murrysville -- Plans for a new bridge over Turtle Creek will be displayed 5-7 p.m. April 10 at the Murrysville Municipal Building.

INTERSTATES

I-376/Parkway East -- Work on this year's roadway and bridge rehabilitation between the Edgewood/Swissvale and Business Route 22 interchanges will get under way Wednesday night, when an inbound lane is to be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Most work will be done during those off-peak periods, although some total closures will be necessary later.

I-79, Allegheny County -- One lane southbound from Wexford-Bayne Interchange (Exit 73) to Nicholson Road through 6 a.m. tomorrow and again next weekend. Construction to last all season between Ohio River and Franklin Park.

I-579, Pittsburgh -- A 10-foot restriction on off-ramp to Seventh Avenue to replace existing sidewalk and railing marks start of $5.2 million rehabiliation of Crosstown Boulevard below Mellon Arena.

STATE HIGHWAYS

Business Route 22, Monroeville/Wilkins -- A $7.7 million repair and repaving project starts tomorrow at the bridge over Lower Rodi Road and Chalfant Run Creek, but without lane restrictions. Most major work will be done between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. weekdays.

Route 22, Indiana County -- PennDOT has opened bids to resurface 2.6 miles in East Wheatfield this summer.

Route 28, Allegheny Valley -- Route 28, Allegheny Valley -- Starting this week, PennDOT will adjust the work zone and move the traffic merge point where only one northbound lane is open from Harmar to Creighton, including creating a temporary "exit lane" to Route 910. Southbound closures 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. daily through April from Pittsburgh Mills to Route 910/Harmar. Traffic is stopped Thursday mornings for blasting, weather permitting, for hill stabilization in Harmar. PennDOT has installed a traffic surveillance camera in the rockfall area. Route 30, Ligonier -- PennDOT has begun $4 million rehabilitation of structures and highway between Longbridge Road south of Idlewild Park and Main Street in Ligonier Borough.

Route 130, Turtle Creek --- Southbound traffic reduced to a single lane on Triboro Expressway because of safety concerns over a railroad retaining wall near Keystone Commons.

Route 910, Gibsonia -- Route 910 overpass of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, 3 miles west of Butler Valley interchange, closed until fall for new bridge construction.

OTHER ROADS

Boulevard of the Allies, Oakland -- Closed outbound east of the Parkway East entrance. Forbes Avenue down to two lanes, both for construction of new bridges and a "gateway interchange." Short stretch of Fifth Avenue closed 9 a.m.-3 p. m. daily, beginning at Robinson Street, through April.

Brownsville Road, South Park -- Bridge over Piney Fork closed for $1.3 million replacement. Detour via Route 88.

Duquesne 'flyover' ramp -- Officials broke ground Friday for construction of a $12 million railroad overpass to connect Route 837 and RIDC's Riverplace City Center.

McClintock Road, White Oak -- Bridge over Jack's Run near Route 48 will be closed tomorrow through mid-October for replacement. Detour will be posted.

Stanwix Street, Downtown -- Closed between Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Penn Avenue for excavation associated with extending the light-rail system 1.2 miles to the North Shore.

MAJOR BRIDGES

Birmingham Bridge -- One lane being maintained in both directions, on the southbound side. Northbound side remains closed while rocker bearings are replaced.

Fort Duquesne Bridge --- Ramps to and from Route 65 at the north end of the bridge closed 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday for pier work related to the Port Authority's light-rail extension. Mainline remains open between West End Bridge and points east, as well as I-279 ramps. Detour for Route 65 via the West End Bridge.

McKees Rocks Bridge -- Single-lane closures 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. weekdays through early May.
