Jim Struzzi, spokesman for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11, is resigning to become president of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce.

During his tenure as district press secretary, several steps were undertaken to improve communications and information flow between the department and the traveling public. Mr. Struzzi, 45, also is familiar to Pittsburghers for his many advisories about road work, each of which admonished drivers to use caution, slow down and be ready for changing traffic patterns; and for media interviews too numerous to count about preparations for snowstorms.

He has been the spokesman for District 11, comprising Allegheny, Beaver and Lawrence counties, since January 2006. He and his wife and four children reside in Indiana County. His last day with PennDOT will be April 18.
