Education Secretary Arne Duncan to visit Pittsburgh this week

U. S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will visit Pittsburgh Wednesday as part of a two-day forum on early childhood education initiatives.

The forum will be hosted by Mayor Bill Peduto and the National League of Cities to highlight the city’s efforts in early childhood education.

Mr. Duncan, Mr. Peduto and a representative of the NLC will visit Hug Me Tight Childlife Center on Wednesday afternoon and then attend a community forum and question-and-answer session at 4:30 p.m. at the Hill House’s Kaufmann Center, 1825 Centre Ave., Hill District.The event is open to the public, but space is very limited.
