More than 200 Pine-Richland staff members and residents showed up at the district's regular school board meeting on Monday night to show their support as negotiators work though the mediation process, which may bring about a contract agreement.

According to Pine-Richland Education Association president Trent Matteson, "Tonight was about how our teachers and the community support the negotiations team."

The previous contract was in effect, with a two-year extension, from July 1, 2006, to June 30, 2012, with formal negotiations for a new agreement starting in January 2012.
