Pittsburgh school board accepts retirements, resignation from principals

The board of Pittsburgh Public Schools tonight accepted four retirements and one resignation of school principals.

The retirements are Toni Kendrick, Allegheny 6-8, effective July 1; Sylbia Kunst, Pioneer, effective Sept. 1; Denyse Lititles-Cullens, Westwood K-5, which was effective Jan. 1; and James Nath, Roosevelt PreK-5, effective March 1.

In addition, Kevin McGuire, Arlington PreK-8, resigned, effective Sept. 1.

There were 34 retirements listed on the agenda, most of them teachers. Teachers who submitted their retirement notices by Jan. 15 will receive a $500 notice incentive later. Principals who submitted retirement are eligible for enhanced severance calculations.
