A bargaining session planned for Wednesday between the State System of Higher Education and the union representing faculty on the system's 14 state-owned universities was canceled by agreement of both sides. The next bargaining date is Jan. 4.

More than 5,000 faculty represented by the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties have been without a contract since June 30 2011.
