Allegheny County police have charged a woman in the December death of an 86-year-old man who was unloading a truck that was struck by the woman's car.
The wreck occurred about 10:20 a.m. Dec. 5 in the 600 block of Broadway Avenue in Stowe. Anthony Perri of McKees Rocks, who had been unloading produce from the back of the truck, was thrown from the truck as a result of the collision and struck his head, county police said.
He died of his injuries a week later.
Police today said they had charged Jennifer Roedler, 52, also of McKees Rocks, with several crimes as a result of the collision. Investigators said her car left its lane of travel and hit the box truck.
She stopped and was detained at the scene but was not charged until today.
She faces counts of homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter, driving under the influence and reckless driving.
She was being held at the Allegheny County Jail pending arraignment.
