The owner of a BP gas station in McKeesport was sentenced today to three years of probation, including eight months of home confinement, for inflating an insurance claim he filed after a car accident at his station in 2011 and then lying to and asking witnesses to lie to the FBI.

Danny A. Patel, 46, of North Huntingdon, was also ordered to pay $14,639 in restitution and a $10,000 fine.

Mr. Patel had pleaded guilty in April to mail fraud, witness tampering and lying to the FBI.
