Whitehall -- Teachers from Baldwin Community Preschool will present a hands-on storytime by engaging children ages 4 to 6 in a reading of "The Everything Machine" at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Whitehall Public Library, 100 Borough Park Drive. No registration required.

Pleasant Hills -- Pleasant Hills Public Library will hold a fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Primanti's Restaurant, 830 Clairton Blvd., with 10 percent of purchases donated to the library.

West Mifflin -- Busy Beaver of West Mifflin will hold its second annual car cruise, including music by a disc jockey and prizes, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at 2212 Lebanon Church Road. Proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation. Rain date: June 29.


Dormont -- A farmers market is being held from 4 to 7 p.m. every Monday through Oct. 28 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church parking lot, Alabama and West Liberty avenues.

Pleasant Hills -- The Pleasant Hills Lions Club is holding a farmers market from 3:30 to 7 p.m. every Thursday through Oct. 17 in the parking lot of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road.


Bethel Park -- Care for Caregivers, an Alzheimer's support group for family members, will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 6 at South Hills Assembly, 2725 Bethel Church Road. More information: 412-835-8900 or


Nottingham -- The Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer a women's wilderness hike at 10 a.m. Saturday starting at the Mingo Creek County Park office. The event will include a yoga warm-up, a moderately intense hike and a midday brunch. Bring a large towel for yoga stretch. Water will be supplied. Cost: $8. Pre-register: 724-228-6867.

Washington -- Immaculate Conception Parish is holding its annual summer festival from 6 to 10 p.m. through Saturdayin the parking lot of John F. Kennedy Catholic School, 111 W Spruce St. Parking and admission are free.

West Mifflin -- TJ Arts will hold the second annual performance of its signature summer event, "Hot on the Arts," at 7 p.m. June 30 at the Community College of Allegheny County South Campus Theatre, 1750 Clairton Road. The event will feature cabaret-style performances from about 30 alumni and current student performers. Bethel Park -- The Bethel Park Recreation Department will hold its monthly flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Port Authority parking lot at Brightwood and Lytle roads. Flea markets also will be held July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 21.


Peters -- James C. Clad, former deputy assistant secretary of defense for Asian and Pacific Security Concerns, will speak on "The Geopolitics of Energy" at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Peters Township Public Library, 616 East McMurray Road. Register: or 724-941-9430.

Elizabeth -- Applications for the Grand Stage Summer Camp by Mon River Arts are due June 28. The camp for ages 8 to 14 runs from 9 a.m. to noon July 8-12 and 15-19 at the Grand Theatre, 207 S. Second Ave. The theme is "Back to the '80s" and includes acting technique, choreography and voice technique. A final performance will be at 7 p.m. July 19. Tuition: $250.
