Hornets' Challenge fundraising event

Students and teachers at Holy Sepulcher Catholic School are preparing for the school's largest fundraiser, the Hornets' Challenge, to be staged Friday on a 1-mile course around the school and along a road that is closed to traffic.

Individuals obtain sponsorships and they walk or run for an hour to raise money for the school.

This year's challenge is $20,000 with proceeds to go toward student technology and strengthening programs in science, the arts and math.

The challenge starts at 10:30. Afterward, students, teachers, parents and friends of the school will eat lunch, donated by sponsors of the challenge. Then there will be activities in the afternoon.
