This weekend's Westmoreland County Air Show will feature a performance by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels precision flying team.

Dwayne Pickels, an airport administrator, said six of the team's F-18 fighter planes will be featured in Saturday and Sunday's air shows at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Unity. The prestigious team last performed at the county air show in 1998.

The show will also feature several performances by the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team and flights by a number of stunt pilots.

Airport gates will open at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and the Army Golden Knights will launch at 10:40 a.m. At 10:55 a.m., stunt pilot Rob Holland will take to the air, to be joined in the sky at 11 a.m. by fellow stunt pilot Sean Tucker.

Minutes later, the U.S. Army Golden Knights will do a flag drop to the National Anthem. They will do a mass exit, in which they will all jump at once from a C-31 propeller driven cargo plane.

Sean Tucker will do a quick stunt that will be followed by recovery teams going out into the fields to pick up the Golden Knights parachutists.

At about 11:30 a.m., Rob Holland will do a stunt, followed by a performance of the Jack Knutson Extra 300 Aerobics team.

The Smoke-N-Thunder Jet Car, which can travel at 400 miles per hour, will follow.

The Alabama Boys, also known as the Greg Koontz Comedy and Truck Top Landing routine, will perform at noon.

B-25 World War II bombers will take flight at approximately 12:20 p.m. followed by a demonstration of a Hornet jet fighter.

At 1 p.m., the Firebirds Extreme Aerobatic Team will perform. At 1:15 p.m., Greg Koontz will give his Decathlon Aerobatic performance, followed by a second launch of the U.S. Army Golden Knights at 1:30 p.m.

The Golden Knights will do another mass jump at 1:55 p.m., and Rob Holland MX2 Aerobatics will perform at 2:20 p.m.

The Smoke-N-Thunder Jet Car will return daily around 2:30 p.m. followed by a performance by the AeroShell Aerobatic Team. The grand finale each day will be the Blue Angels performance at 3 p.m.

Discount tickets will be available at Shop 'n Save stores for $10, and tickets at the gate will cost $12 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free. Parking is $2 and will be off Route 981 near the Route 30 intersection.

DeNunzio's restaurant will provide the vendor food for the event.
