Numerous streets will close and Port Authority bus routes will see detours and temporary stop changes Downtown during this weekend's Pittsburgh Pride events.
Beginning at 4 a.m. Saturday, Liberty Avenue will close to vehicle traffic between Ninth and 10th streets and Smithfield Street will close from Liberty to Seventh Street.
The Pride in the Street event featuring Adam Lambert begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and lasts until 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Pride Fest on Sunday will extend the closure of Liberty to Sixth Street beginning at 6 a.m. Cross streets Tito Way, Sixth and Seventh avenues and Seventh, Ninth and Wood streets will also close.
Sunday's Pride March, beginning at noon, will wend from the Boulevard of the Allies staging area between Grant and Wood streets east to Grant Street, then north on Fifth Avenue to Liberty until it ends at Sixth.
Eighteen bus routes will be detoured all day Saturday for Pride in the Street.
About 40 routes will be affected Sunday.
Also on Sunday, regular quarterly service adjustments will take effect on about 45 routes, and 430 little-used bus stops will be eliminated. The authority recommends that weekend riders allow extra time.
