One of the seven men indicted in the September 2010 robbery of the Swap Meet on Brighton Road in North Side was sentenced today to three years and nine months in prison.
Kevin Allison, 23, of Garfield had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute marijuana, extortion and use of a firearm in a crime of drug trafficking or violence.
"I made a few bad decisions, but I'm not a bad guy," he told U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti. "I would appreciate a second chance."
After his release, he will face four years of federal probation. He also must forfeit two rifles and three handguns, plus pay his share of restitution to the victims.
He is the second of the defendants to be sentenced.
Police said the men plotted to rob the Swap Meet variety store, and made off with $300 to $400 and a kilogram of marijuana. When police responded, some of the men fired upon them, and an officer was injured when she was hit by a getaway van.mobilehome - neigh_city - breaking
