Some Port Authority bus and light-rail transit routes will run on different schedules as crews try to work around the Great Race on Sunday and weekend-long track maintenance.
Street closures will also be in effect during the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race, which is expected to draw 14,500 runners and walkers.
More than 30 bus routes in Downtown, Uptown, Oakland and Squirrel Hill will be altered for the annual Great Race.
Detours and temporary stop changes will begin at 4:45 a.m. and are expected to end by noon, according to the Port Authority.
Meanwhile, throughout the weekend, maintenance work near the South Park Road crossing will close part of the Library T line and cause detours in the Blue Line T service.
Port Authority crews expect to begin work about 7 p.m. Friday and complete it about 4:30 a.m. Monday.

Street closures during the race are as follows:
ZONE AStart Line at Beechwood Boulevard to Forbes and Morewood avenues will close to traffic at 8:30 a.m. and open at approximately 9:45 a.m.
ZONE BForbes and Morewood avenues to Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard will close to traffic at 8:30 a.m. and open at approximately 10:30 a.m.
ZONE CFifth Avenue and Bigelow Blvd. to Fifth Avenue at Boulevard of the Allies Slip Ramp will close to traffic at 6:30 a.m. and open at approximately 10:30 a.m.
ZONE DBoulevard of the Allies to Wood Street to Ft. Pitt Boulevard to Commonwealth Place will close to traffic at 6:30 a.m. and open at approximately 11 a.m.
FINISH LINECommonwealth Place traffic will be restricted from 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, through 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25. The intersection of Liberty Avenue and Commonwealth Place will close to traffic on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 8 a.m. -- 11 a.m.
