Allegheny General Hospital and several community partners today will hold a free basketball clinic for children with asthma ages 6 to 14.

The "Shoot for Your Good Health" camp at St. Bede School, 6920 Edgerton Ave., Point Breeze, is designed to help kids with asthma lead healthier lifestyles and be more active in sports.

It runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and includes asthma screening and asthma management education, as well as basketball training by former Pitt star Dave Roman.

Drs. David Skoner and Deborah Gentile of AGH's Division of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology along with representatives of the Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy will provide parents with the latest information about asthma medications. Free health screenings and smoking cessation education also will be available for parents.
