Jeannette woman's death on train tracks ruled as suicide

A woman struck by a train Wednesday afternoon in Westmoreland County committed suicide, the Westmoreland County Coroner's Office said.

Witnesses observed Judith Elaine Buchanan, 64 of Jeannette, standing on the railroad tracks as the train approached sounding its horn, the coroner's office said. The train hit the woman around 1 p.m. in Hempfield, near Chambers Avenue.
