A Bridgewater man has been jailed on charges that he sneaked into a volunteer fire department and took a fire truck on a 30-minute joyride with a woman passenger.

The Beaver County Times reports that Randy Allen Davidson, 47, was charged Sunday with unauthorized use of a vehicle, burglary and other crimes for allegedly entering the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department about midnight May 26.

Local police were called when fire officials saw Mr. Davidson — who is not a firefighter — enter the firehouse, grab the vehicle’s keys, and drive the truck away with a woman in the passenger seat.

Police say Mr. Davidson returned the truck and the keys to their original positions about 30 minutes later, making it appear the truck had not been moved.

Court records don’t list a defense attorney.
