West Allegheny school board members voted 9-0 tonight to award $12.5 million in contracts for renovations and additions to Wilson Elementary in Findlay.

A $6.4 million general construction contract went to Gurtner Construction Co. Inc. of Pittsburgh.

Other contracts were for electrical work, plumbing, heating/ventilation/air conditioning, asbestos abatement, fire protection, food service equipment and telephone data construction.

The board authorized the intent to award the contracts, contingent upon post-bid documentation and certification.

Work at the K-5 school is scheduled to start next month and be completed in August 2015.
