A building that housed a car wash in Coraopolis was destroyed in an early morning fire.

Flames broke out around 1:40 a.m. in the building in the 800 block of Fifth Avenue.

KDKA-TV is reporting an auto repair shop and a laundromat also were part of the building. Firefighters were concerned that chemicals stored inside could have created an explosion.

Six companies were called in to battle the fire. An adjacent building that houses a bar and vacant apartments suffered minor smoke and water damage.
