AROUND THE WEST

Bus schedules and stops are changing

More than 70 Port Authority bus routes -- six serving West commuters -- will see changes starting Sunday due to regular quarterly schedule adjustments and the agency's goal of consolidating bus stops.

Schedules for these buses will be adjusted as part of the authority's regular seasonal changes: Route 28X Airport Flyer; 36 Banksville; 38 Green Tree; 41 Bower Hill; G2 West Busway-All Stops; G3 Moon Flyer.

Port Authority also will begin the first of several phases of bus stop consolidations. Systemwide, nearly 430 stops will be eliminated at locations that are infrequently used. These are the West routes and the number of stops being eliminated:

• Route 20 Kennedy, 18 stops; Route 21 Coraopolis, 26 stops; Route 22 McCoy, 19 stops; Route 24 West Park, 23 stops; Route 26 Chartiers, 7 stops; Route 27 Fairywood, 10 stops; Route 28X Airport Flyer, 2 stops; Route 29 Robinson, 29 stops; Route 31 Bridgeville, 19 stops; Route 38 Green Tree, 8 stops; Route G2 West Busway, 2 stops; Route G3 Moon Flyer, 2 stops; Route G31 Bridgeville Flyer, 12 stops.
