The outbound Parkway West, Interstate 376, was closed for several hours in Beaver County between the Hopewell and Flaugherty Run Road exits after a tanker truck went over a hillside early this afternoon.

The truck went over the hill just east of the Hopewell exit about 1:10 p.m., said Trooper Quentin Newsome of the Beaver barracks of the state police.

The truck had a minor fuel leak, but it was not carrying any hazardous material, he said.

The unidentified driver was taken to a hospital, but his condition was unavailable, Trooper Newsome said. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Emergency responders at the scene included state police, Hopewell police and firefighters, emergency management officials from Beaver and Allegheny counties and the state Department of Transportation.

The roadway reopened just before 6 p.m.
