Inpatient hospice opens in April
Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, is opening one of Beaver County's first inpatient hospice unit on the fourth floor of Heritage Valley Health System's Beaver campus, 1000 Dutch Ridge Road.
The new 10-bed unit at Heritage Valley Beaver will serve terminally ill patients by providing a higher level of care required to face the challenges of end of life.
The 10-bed unit has two suites where families can stay in an adjoining room with the patient, a chapel and a family room overlooking a wooded landscape. Visitors are welcomed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Friends and families also may bring the patient's favorite comfort foods because the new unit will have an equipped kitchen.
