North Fayette has secured a tentative agreement to buy 9 acres of land next to Donaldson Community Park to build a new community center, township manager Bob Grimm said Tuesday.

Construction could begin as early as spring 2014, and the center could open in 2015, he said.

Parks and recreation director Robert Brozovich said amenities could include a gym, an indoor playground and walking track, a dining room, meeting spaces and a game room, plus outdoor basketball and tennis courts.

"It's a pretty exciting time for us knowing that's on the horizon," he said.
