A fire has been extinguished at a Consol Energy gas production site in Greene County on Monday afternoon, spokeswoman Kate O'Donovan said.

The fire started around 3:30 p.m. at the Green Hill 11 pad gas production unit on Lightner Run Road in Center Township, a country emergency dispatcher said. No injuries were reported.

All four wells at that site were "safely shut in and secured," Ms. O'Donovan said.

"... All company personnel and contractors have been evacuated and accounted for with no injuries," she said. "There is no imminent danger to surrounding communities."
