Claysville woman killed in car crash, not found for hours

A Claysville woman killed in a car crash early Monday morning in Washington County wasn’t found until the evening, the coroner there said.

Sandra Howard, 49, was found around 5:10 p.m. along the berm of McDonald Road in West Finley about 377 feet from her wrecked vehicle, Coroner Tim Warco said. The crash is thought to have happened between 2 a.m. and when the abandoned, wrecked vehicle was discovered around 5 a.m.

The cause and manner of Ms. Howard’s death are pending, the coroner said. Pennsylvania State Police in Washington are investigating.
