Homestead police arrested a man who they say used a sawed-off AR15 to kidnap and rob a man last week, a criminal complaint states.

Isiah Tooks, 25, of North Versailles took a man at gunpoint July 31, threatened him and drove him to an ATM in West Homestead, where the man was forced to withdraw money, police said.

On Monday, a police officer spotted Tooks, who matched descriptions of the armed robber, police said. He was taken into custody, and police searched a female companion's home, where they found a gun that matched one seen in video surveillance footage of the crime, police said.

Tooks faces charges including aggravated assault, kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy and is being lodged in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

He previously pleaded guilty in separate cases to felony charges including aggravated assault, robbery, burglary and assault by prisoner, among others, court records show.
