Eight rooms of a 'haunted house' will raise money for Pitcher Park

It's the most boo-ti-ful time of the year. Children in the South Hills are getting ready to trick or treat this Halloween, and here are the times and dates to look for them.

Allegheny County

BALDWIN BOROUGH

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The borough will hold its Halloween Festival from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Municipal Building, 3344 Churchview Ave. with a pumpkin patch, games, treats and more. Visit www.baldwinborough.org.

BALDWIN TOWNSHIP

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The township will hold its Halloween Parade for the children at 3 p.m. Sunday. Meet at the community building and parade to Armstrong Park.

BETHEL PARK

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Bethel Park Public Library will hold a Monster Mash at 7 p.m. Saturday for all ages with games and stories. Families are welcome. Come in costume. Call to register, 412-835-2207, ext. 267.

BRENTWOOD

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Halloween parade Saturday. Lineup begins at 1 p.m. at Moore Elementary School.

Pay a visit to the Three Bears' houses at Brentwood Library from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tomorrow during Halloween in the Woods. Hear a story and receive a treat. Registration is required; call the library at 412-882-5694 or visit www.brentwoodchildren.blogspot.com to register.

BRIDGEVILLE

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Halloween parade Oct. 30, registration begins at 10:15 a.m. at Good Will Manor and parade begins at 11 a.m. Come in costume, prizes given for age groups 0-2; 3-4; 5-7 and 8-10.

Jefferson Ambulance Service will drive through the community with candy during trick-or-treat time.

GLASSPORT

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Halloween parade for children 12 and under, 5-6 p.m. that day. Line up at Sixth Street and Monongahela Avenue and finish at Glassport Honor Roll Memorial. Kids receive a treat bag, and costumes will be judged in the categories of prettiest, scariest, ugliest, and most original.

GREEN TREE

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Green Tree Library will hold a Halloween story time and costume parade at 10:30 a.m. this morning for toddlers and preschoolers. Show off costumes and collect candy in a parade around the municipal center. No registration is required. Visit www.greentreelibrary.org.

HOMESTEAD

Trick or treat, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

JEFFERSON HILLS

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

The Jefferson Hills Library has two Halloween story times for preschoolers at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sunday that will include stories, a craft and a treat. Wear your costumes. Registration is requested by calling the library at 412-655-7741 or online at www.jeffersonhillslibrary.org.

LIBERTY BOROUGH

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Halloween parade begins at 5:30 p.m. that day at the corner of Scene Ridge and River Ridge roads.

MCKEESPORT

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

McKeesport Library will hold a Family Halloween Extravaganza at McKeesport Heritage Center in Renziehausen Park at 5:30 p.m. today with games, pumpkin designing contest and refreshments. Wear your costume for extra fun. Cost is $5 for a family of as many as four people and $2 for each extra person.

Scary Movie Fridays will be held at the library at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow featuring the "Goosebumps" movies. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Visit www.mckeesportlibrary.org.

MT. LEBANON

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Mt. Lebanon Pumpkin Patch Parade is 11 a.m. Saturday, starting at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, 509 Washington Road, and continuing through the business district. Children can trick or treat at participating businesses after the parade.

Mt. Lebanon Library will hold Fright Night tomorrow. The library will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for all ages with activities including preschool story times; Halloween crafts for preschoolers, tweens and teens; Thriller dance instruction and Dewey's Maze, 7 and up. MOUNT OLIVER

Trick or treat, 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

MUNHALL

Trick or treat, 6-7:30 p.m. Saturday.

NORTH VERSAILLES

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Halloween party for residents ages 12 and younger, 7 tonight at the township community center next to the municipal building with a parade followed by a magician and jack-o-lantern contest.

PLEASANT HILLS

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Pleasant Hills Library will have Halloween Tot Story at 10:30 this morning for 2- and 3-year-olds with story, song and snack. Children are welcome to come in costume.

PORT VUE

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Halloween Parade, 2-4 p.m. Saturday, beginning at the Port Vue Borough Building.

For adults, Whitehall Public Library will hold a Halloween Happening at 11:30 this morning, with guest readers and storytellers. Featured guest reader is Ian Eberhardt, children and teen librarian, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh-Hill District. Tickets are $5 and include a light lunch. Payment is due with registration.

For the children, the library will have a Halloween party for kids ages 3-8 on 1-3 Saturday, including crafts, food, stories and more. The cost is $3 per child per admission. Register in advance.
