MONDAY

GARFIELD: The Morningside congregation of the Church of God In Christ will host its Community Day event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pacific and Dearborn streets.

WEDNESDAY

SHADYSIDE: The members of the monthly book discussion group of the Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Coffee Tree Cafe, 5524 Walnut St. The book to be discussed will be "The Drowned River" by Thomas Lux.

THURSDAY

DOWNTOWN: The Citiparks Mellon Square Concert Series will open its 2014 season with a free performance by Mia Z. The event will take place in Mellon Square, with the program beginning at 11 a.m., followed by the performance at noon.

OAKLAND: Undercroft Opera will present its production of Mozart's "The Magic Flute," at 7 p.m. in Antonian Theatre on the campus of Carlow University, 3333 Fifth Ave. Tickets are $25-$38; seniors will receive a $5 discount; students and children's tickets are $15. FRIDAY

GARFIELD: The Morningside congregation of the Church of God In Christ will hold its nurse ministry service at 7 p.m. at the church, located at 5173 Dearborn St.

DOWNTOWN: The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation will offer a free walking tour of the Penn-Liberty Cultural District. Attendees will meet at noon at Katz Plaza, located at Penn Avenue and Seventh Street. The neighborhood includes restored performance venues, hotels, commercial buildings as well as one-of-a-kind residences and stores within a National Register District and a City Historic District. SATURDAY

GREENFIELD/OAKLAND: The 32nd annual Greenfield Glide run and fitness-walk will be held at 9:30 a.m. The beginning and end points for the event will be in Schenley Park, on Overlook Drive near the shelter. Overall awards will be presented to the top five male and female finishers. Awards will also be given to the top three male and female finishers in 14 age divisions as well as awards presented to the male and female runners who finish in the middle of their division. The advanced registration fee is $18 for runners and $10 for walkers. The deadline for online registration is May 27 at midnight. Registration on the day of the event will take place at 8 a.m.; the registration fee will be $25 for runners and $15 for walkers. For more information or to register, www.greenfieldglide.com

SUNDAY

GREENFIELD/OAKLAND: The Overlook Shelter in Schenley Park will be the location for the Greenfield Community Festival. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m.

HIGHLAND PARK: The Bryant Street Festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m.

PARK PLACE: The Park Place Picnic will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Abbott Street.

OAKLAND: The annual alumni recital of the Pittsburgh Concert Society will take place at 2 p.m. in Kresge Recital Hall, College of Fine Arts on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. Performing will be guitarist Marco Sartor in a program including works by Bach, Scarlatti, and Piazzolla, and baritone Liam Bonner accompanied by pianist Mark Carver in a program including works by Gluck, Verdi and Tchaikovsky, etc. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and free for students.
