Gasoline prices increase over past week in Pittsburgh area

Average retail gasoline prices in the Pittsburgh area have risen 4.5 cents per gallon in the past week.

Gas prices yesterday hit an average of $3.56 a gallon, according to a survey of 731 local gasoline outlets conducted by GasBuddy.com.

Prices yesterday were 16.7 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 4.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

Thee national average has increased 5.0 cents per gallon in the past week to $3.34 a gallon.
