A former Steelers linebacker's lawsuit against the owners of The Meadows Racetrack and Casino has been resolved under terms that have not been disclosed, according to a court filing today.
Michael L. Merriweather, a star in the 1980s and now of Stockton, Calif., sued the facility's ownership last year following his dismissal from a job there promoting blackjack tournaments, bowling and Steelers-themed "Black and Gold" events. He claimed in the lawsuit by attorney Emily Town that he was stereotyped by the white managers, excluded from meetings, undermined and denied commissions prior to his January 2012 dismissal.
Attorneys for both sidestoday filed a stipulation of dismissal, which almost always means that the matter has been settled.
“The matter has been resolved and we cannot discuss it any further," said Tom Meinert, a spokesman for The Meadows in Washington County.
Ms. Town could not be immediately reached for comment.
