Crews are investigating what caused a wind turbine to topple Wednesday night in Fayette County.

Steve Stengel, spokesman for NextEra Energy Resources, said a company technician went to 300 Cranberry Lake Road in Springfield late Wednesday after remote monitoring showed something was wrong with one of the turbines.

There, he found one of the turbines had fallen over. No one was hurt.

A Fayette County emergency dispatcher said a caller reported that a turbine had fallen and was blocking the road shortly before 11:30 p.m.
