Hunter found dead near tree stand in Armstrong County

A hunter who was found about 200 yards from his tree stand in Armstong County died from an apparent cardiac event, the deputy coroner there said.

Thomas Heim, 53, of Butler was pronounced dead in Cowanshannock by Deputy Coroner Brian Myers, and an autopsy will not be performed.

Rural Valley fire department, Citizen’s Ambulance, state police and the state Game Commission also responded. Geibel Funeral Home in Butler is handling funeral arrangements.
