Man pronounced dead at scene of 3-alarm fire in Spring Garden

One man was pronounced dead at the scene of a three-alarm house fire in Spring Garden.

Pittsburgh fire chief Darryl Jones said firefighters found the victim in the second floor of 819 Spring Garden Avenue shortly before 8 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire caused heavy damage to the residence and moderate damage to an adjacent home.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
