National Weather Service issues frost and freeze warnings for western Pennsylvania

The National Weather Service has issued an overnight frost advisory for eight western Pennsylvania counties.

The advisory, which will be in effect from 3 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, covers Mercer, Venango, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Armstrong and Indiana counties and includes the cities of Grove City, Franklin, New Castle, Butler, Clarion, Brookville, Kittanning and Indiana.

With temperatures dropping as low as 33 degrees, sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered, the National Weather Service says.
