A Tarentum woman died this afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Fawn, according to an Allegheny County 911 supervisor.

Mary Shulz, 71, was driving a car that collided with a dump truck around 12:22 p.m. in the 1800 block of Bull Creek Road near Iron Bridge Lane and Metz Road, the supervisor said. The Allegheny County medical examiner's office provided her name and said an autopsy will be performed Tuesday.

The call originally came in as a motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment. A medical helicopter was dispatched but was canceled while en route, the supervisor said.

Allegheny County Police have activated the homicide unit, Lt. Andrew Schurman said.
