A winery and restaurant in West Deer was open and operating as usual Sunday in the wake of a kitchen accident that left one person with minor injuries Saturday night.

Randall Narcisi, an owner of Narcisi Winery, said an employee of LaVite Ristorante, which rents space from the winery along Route 910, was attempting to a light a stove in an auxiliary kitchen when a buildup of gas was ignited.

“There was a puff. No fire. No damage. From my understanding, the employee [of LaVite] had a minor burn and was taken to a hospital to get checked out,” Mr. Narcisi said.

He said the businesses opened as usual at 11 a.m. Sunday. The incident happened at about 9 p.m. Saturday. The winery is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
