Husband, wife dead in apparent murder-suicide in Butler County

Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in the 300 block of Evans Road in Jackson.

A husband and wife were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in a Butler County home Wednesday afternoon, state police Sgt. Patrick Sarnese said .
Jackson police were called around 5:45 p.m. to the 300 block of Evans Road, where they found the couple, Dana Wilson Miller, 47, of Cranberry, and Jeffrey Alan Miller, 52, of Zelienople, according to state police.
Police said Dana Miller had multiple gunshot wounds and Jeffrey Miller suffered a single gunshot wound.
"We do not believe there is a threat to the community," Sgt. Sarnese said of whether there are believed to be others involved in the shootings.
Police continue to investigate. It was unclear whose house they were found in.
The causes of their deaths will be determined by the coroner, he said. The Butler County coroner could not be reached for comment.
